10th Entry - Year 2018 Summary

Hey Guys and Girls, Quite a long time have past, so it feels, but I hope my dear readers can forgive me about that. Soo 2018 has past and all an Happy New Year I guess. And also Happy Christmas. Now lets get back to business shall we? I think I start with the most important one: The Performance For me performance is internal interest Rate. Like How well did my money work. It is not the same as the true time weighted Rate of Return. The TTWRR works more like this: I invest 100€ at 01.01.2018 00:01 and compare it to what i have at the end at 31.12.2018 23:59. That means, if I invest 100€ at the start, at the end of 2018 my Bank would say to me: Your Balance is 92,75€ right now. So while TTWRR only invest once at the start, the IIR see how well every single unit worked. That's how I understand it. If I am wrong then so be it. From 01.01.2018 to 31.12.2018 my overall Performance seems to be at around -7,25% . So the attentive reader would say: Investing in stockshares w...

9th Month - Yield is a fragile thing

Hey Guys, It's been a while since I posted, but I hope you still come over once in a while to see, if there are new things to tell and share. And I think most people already know this, but it it really astonishing, if you have experience it yourself. What I want to talk about is Yield or gain on capital. But before we start, for starters: What is Yield? Or how do I define Yield. Definition: "Yield is the money you get for the money you invested." That's it. No long text about it. A simple and easy to understand definition. Let's make an example to make it clear: Let's say you invest 1.000,00 € or money unit. And every month you get 3,00 units. To talk about Yield you need to consider the time-intervall. Whether you see Yield on a monthly basis or on a yearly basis. If you have a yearly basis - that's what most people do - then you have a 3,6 % Yield per year. To get that number, you do this: 3  x 12 / 1000. The "12" are the 12 month...

Still Alive + a good advice

Hi Leute, Mit Bedauern muss ich euch mitteilen, dass ich den deutschen Teil jetzt absofort weglassen werde. Es ist einfach dem Aufwand nicht Wert. Zumal ich aktuell 0 deutsche Leser habe.   ----------------------------------------------------- Hey Guys, As you already have noticed - I have paused posting for a few months now. There were several thinks which lead to this development. There are major key factors for this:  Writing in German and then translating it in english is really time consuming, proof reading take so much time. Real life hitted me real hard. Working nearly 60hours every week took its tool on me. And then by a chain of events beeing nearly broke too is seriously something depressing. Also the fact that i am only doing this as a hobby, a fun thing - you know i don't even get a penny out of this thing here. My project will maybe take years to take off or even fail with nothing left. So of course i am not that motivated to do this in a time o...
